New Jersey STRIPER FISHING - DAY OR NIGHT
The Double Down II has quick access to the super striper fishing in Raritan Bay. This “back bay” fishery has proven itself to be superior and is one of the best on the East Coast. Captain Dan’s local knowledge and experience takes full advantage whether fishing with fresh clam bellies, netted bunker (either live lining or chunking), or trolling bunker spoons, mojos or shad rigs. Sometimes casting shad bodies and flutter spoons are effective. Captain Dan knows what’s working and where to go.
TrolLing FOR Striped BASS
Trolling for stripers is as exciting as it is productive. Once the Double Down II finds the schools, get ready for non-stop action. Bring your family or friends and feel the thrill in landing some nice bass on the troll.
New Jersey Fluke Fishing
The fluke season typically kicks off in mid-Spring and continues through early or mid-Fall. The Double Down II is a great escape with your friends and family for fishing for these delicious popular eating fish. Captain Dan uses an assortment of Shadman fluke fishing tackle, jigs and gulp, and continually enjoys successful catches drifting the back bay or moving to the Reach, Sandy Hook, Coney Island, The Rockaways, or Ambrose channel.
"Jersey's Mixed Bag" - BlueFIsh, WeAK, Blackfish, SeaBass, Porgies, Codfish, Ling, and Flounder Fishing
Bluefish are non-stop, almost all year long, and offer the best fight per pound than any other species. Weakfish run in specific areas during certain times of the year and are great fun on light tackle. Porgies are abundant around structures in the bay and can keep children (and grown-ups) interested with lively action. Blackfish, Sea Bass and Porgies are abundant at the Sandy Hook Reef. Cod Fish and Ling can be caught at 17 Fathoms and near shore wrecks, also great for the table.
